It’s getting to year’s end – a finale to be enjoyed with coastal walks, shopping and the amazing St Nicholas Parade with its marching bands and costumed creatures & fireworks on Saturday evening. This weekend will truly get you into the spirit of Christmas as we dine together and enjoy traditional French cuisine.

Year’s end and another late opportunity to enjoy some short walks along the lovely French coastline and shopping in time for Christmas.

This is also our Festive Le Weekend Hop – it’s time to get some early festive spirit going with a visit to the Auchan hypermarket so we can take some liquid cheer and cheese home. On our return to Boulogne we will enjoy the Defile de la Saint Nicholas (Parade of Saint Nicholas), a delightful traditional grand parade through the streets of Boulogne, complete with fireworks display. Enjoy a magical encounter with Saint Nicholas; the patron saint of school children surrounded by creatures, vegetables and costumed bands.

You will feel the festive cheer and fun in the air, no doubt helped by an odd glass or two of vin chaud, and as the parade ends around 7.00pm we will be treated to a fireworks spectacle on the quay.

On our return to the hotel Les Gens De Mer Boulogne/Mer, in the town centre, we enjoy dinner and traditional French cuisine with wine and coffee in the restaurant overlooking the old fishing port.  An opportunity to relax and enjoy our evening together in a lovely French town before the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season hits us all.
