FULLY BOOKED!! A mega long walking weekend break of discovery that will take you to the very far north of Scotland - to the famed John o' Groats and Dunnetts Head and to the archipelago of Orkney Isles which offers true remoteness. No high mountains but birds galore, including puffins, and wildlife in one of the most untouched habitats in the UK. You will saviour the pristine coastline and cliffs, including the famous landmark of the Old Man of Hoy that rises dramatically from the sea. If that is not enough we have history - the ancient village of Skara Brae, the truly spectacular Ring of Brodgar which contains 27 of the original 60 stones and dates back to around 3000 BC. And if we have divers amongst us - the famous Scapa Flow beckons! On Thursday night we will stay in a hostel at Thurso (twin rooms available) and on Friday afternoon we will make our way to our club house in Orkney, the Birsay Outdoor Centre (upgrade to a local hotel or guest house available). Birsay the ancient capital of Orkney - home to Neolithic people, Picts and Vikings, even royalty and now for the weekend Birsay will enchant and enthral us. This will be our ultimate Club Experience break of the year. Get the dates in your diary and do register your interest now! Note: This short break will start and end at Inverness on the above dates and budget cost below does not include travel to Inverness. Timings will allow a choice of train or air travel from London. Travel from the south by minibus will be possible but departure/return home dates would differ from the above given the distance involved - its 540 miles to Inverness and another 110 to Thurso! Sorry, you've missed this one, however why not contact us if you would like to receive more info on similar trips in the future! | ||
