Corporate Membership
Staff the most valuable asset of each and every business are under pressure as never before, time just seems to vanish, work place stress a major concern of every employer, fitness deteriorating and obesity levels increasing in all organisations including the NHS. At home, we are packing even more into our domestic lives but often it is for our children, family and indeed our parents, life is so fast flowing and that precious commodity quality time just ebbs away, leaving little just for us!
UK business has had a long and cherished history of supporting work based social and community clubs, but alas as these are so dependent on the willing staff volunteer, those clubs like many others throughout the community have been struggling. Our so willing volunteers, true work horses for so many, have found themselves overwhelmed, ever willing but unable to cope with the double whammy of business and domestic pressures they face.
Yet, there has never been a more important time for businesses to have in place effective social clubs and communities, work hard, but play hard and have fun keeps the doctor away and certainly does much to keep that dreaded stress genie locked inside its bottle.
Our corporate membership scheme is available for those employers who wish to encourage employees to participate and enjoy outdoor activities and the benefits to health and productivity that arise. For some organisations who believe 30 members of staff may wish to participate on a regular basis for a payment of £500 per year these employees can enjoy the benefits of the Walkfree Breakfree Club Experience and have an opportunity to participate in low cost events and enjoy discounts on other Walkfree Breakfree Activities. It is a delightful and low cost scheme to show your employees you care and encourage them to get active.
If you have over 30 employees who wish to participate regularly for an annual fee of £1,000 we will be delighted to operate an Outdoor Club to target your staff exclusively. We would develop in association with you and nominated staff members a series of events including residential and non residential walks and other outdoor activities. The aim would be simple to encourage community and participation in events to improve employee health and motivation. Your lonely staff volunteer will I assure you no longer be lonely, he would have our full support, in respect of developing events, marketing, administration, collecting monies, organising transport and the inordinate number of other tasks necessary to deliver successful community events in the work place. This will include free navigation training for volunteer leaders (non residential). Give it a go; it is an investment you know that makes sense.
We are different, just take a look at our testimonials, it's fun and it's never too late with us. Remember most people walk somewhere sometimes, but making walking a regular activity and focusing on the intensity or distance covered can greatly increase personal fitness. We encourage one and all, new starters and indeed those experienced, with us its fun, the social experience and harnessing community spirit are equal partners. The added bonus of course is unlimited fresh air, lively company and a little mud from time to time; of course, it's just your kind of thing!
Local day walks, walking weekends from the cheap and cheerful to the luxurious; all in magical locations and sometimes in true wilderness areas, and occasionally rock climbing, scrambles or gorge walks. Over the years so many differing people have enjoyed our activities, employees of all types, partners for other organisations, kids, friends and even our grannies. In fact, we make sure no barriers exist within our groups, whatever your age, weight or fitness levels, whether an experienced mountaineer or walker or new to the activity.
Employers remember, it has been proven that just 90 minutes of exercise per week can cut the number of sick days employees take by half.
We are confident that employee staff outdoor groups benefit business and employees in so many differing ways, they can transform lives, they can help kick start active travel patterns and play an important role within your organisation's Travel Plan. Remember in this context, active travel is the magic pill: only by transforming our environment to make walking and cycling the natural choice for local travel will we are able to re-insert physical activity into people's daily lives.
